The National Consumer Panel home scan is now accepting applicants for certain markets. (It is totally free to submit an application) If you are accepted, you will receive a scanner which you will use to track the different items you purchase.
In return for this, you can earn some great prizes such as electronics, toys and gift cards. Not everyone gets accepted, but I definitely think it is worth trying for. You can return the scanner whenever you choose you no longer wish to participate. Even sweeter they have recently been offering panelists an additional $30 cash if they will keep track of what they watch on TV!
