Shopping trips 8/14 - Giant Eagle, Meijer, CVS & Walgreens

I didn't need much from the ads this week, but I had $5.50 in Register Rewards expiring today & $4.00 in Mperks. So, I headed out to make sure I didn't lose any of the "free" money basically.

Now, I will start buy saying YES...that is a negative sign in front of the $1.14. Meijer actually GAVE ME BACK $1.14 in cash when I was done with my purchases! I will say, this is RARE & does not happen at Meijer very often. I got lucky with the way my coupons scanned in & because I was using the self checkout there was no one there to "zero" out the order like they would at a register.

I thought I would use my $2.00 Mperk that was expiring today and then save the other $2.00 Mperk I had since my total wasn't over $4.00. Instead, it took both Mperks off but cleared out the difference so I didn't get any money back on this transaction.

 -used $.50 off 3 coupon from the 8/14 Sunday paper (I don't see this coupon on my receipt though...so I don't know if it really came off?!)

 -used $4.00 in Mperks (my account)

I'm not sure how I ended up getting money back. If my coupon for the tissues would have went through, my total should have been $2.00 - the amount of 1 of the Mperks. Since it doesn't look like it came off, I am guessing it took off both Mperks & somehow didn't clear the overage & instead gave me cash back.

I originally went to CVS to do the gas card deal. I wanted to get 2 packs of huggies, an air fresher, a pack of huggies wipes & 2 packs of cottonelle wipes. My total would have been just under $13.00 (with $2.00 deposited into my Saving Star account) & I would have received a $10.00 gas card. GREAT DEAL. Well, the closest CVS did not have the slip on diapers in stock yet & the jean diapers are not ringing up as part of the gas card deal. Totally through off my transaction :( I did however get 2 of the 3 FREE coupons from the red coupon machine!!
